At just 17 years old, Lucas Amadeus Duran, known simply as Amadeus, represents the next generation of artistic excellence. Born in Australia to Brazilian and Colombian parents, he carries a rich cultural heritage that shapes his creativity and drive. Raised in a family of professional dancers, performance was part of his world from the beginning, with artistry woven into everyday life alongside his sister, who shares the same passion.
From his earliest appearances on stage, Amadeus demonstrated a natural connection to performance. His early achievements included placing second in the Bachata Duo category at the World Latin Championships alongside his sister, a milestone that highlighted his potential at a young age. He later appeared as a guest dancer on The Wiggles DVDs, where his charisma and stage presence reached audiences across the country.
His artistic development continued through formal training at The Whiteley College, where he excelled in the performing arts program. He took on lead roles in major productions, including Beauty and the Beast Ballet, Phantom of the Opera, and Cinderella, showcasing versatility, discipline, and emotional depth. His commitment to excellence earned him competition wins at Eisteddfods and invitations to elite training opportunities, including the Sydney Dance Company’s pre-professional year.

Despite his growing international profile, Amadeus remains strongly connected to his local community. He continues to perform with The Latin Stars Dance Academy and was selected to perform lyrical, jazz, zydeco, and hip-hop at Parliament House on Australia Day 2025. His talents also led to him being chosen as the lead performer in DJ Jazzy’s production Boogie Fever.
Beyond dance, Amadeus explores a wide range of interests that reflect his curiosity and versatility, including singing, acting, drawing, and playing soccer.
